Hridaya Kamalam (Kolam) design  symbolizes Goddess Lakshmi. The word "Hridaya" means THE HEART and the word "Kamalam" means LOTUS.  Lotus is the beloved flower of Goddess Lakshmi. And this kolam is drawn on Fridays to bring prosperity with success and wealth and so drawn in puja room or in mandap where Lakshmi idol is placed.
